Today’s Photo Of The Day is “Rocky Mountain Bull Elk” by Gene Putney. Location: Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
“On this October morning, it was in the low 30s just before sunrise and the elk were very active,” explains Putney. “The bulls were bugling throughout the meadow; however, the meadow had a layer of fog making it not the best for photo opportunities. As the sun broke through, the fog started to lift, and with the backlighting, frost and steam, the conditions fell into place for some dramatic captures.”
