Skiing, cowboy boots, dancing, whiskey — what else do you need?
Tahoe-based skier Amie Engerbretson is all about skiing. But in her most recent film, she’s more about cutting loose. In “Boots Over Brim,” Engerbretson transports us to the mountains of Wyoming, Tahoe, and beyond. She skis some big lines. And after the lifts close, she takes a shot of whiskey and hits the dance floor, cowboy boots flying.
How did the dancing start? Well, like dance, skiing is an art.
“A few winters back, Engerbretson and her dad were showing off their dance moves at the Cowboy bar in Jackson, WY. Their footwork got fancy as they started throwing inverted dance moves. Within moments, the bouncer promptly kicked them out saying ‘No boots over the brim!’ A film concept was born that day,” reads the film description.
Top off Engerbretson’s moves on the mountain (and the dance floor) with a perfect track of Paul Cauthen’s country music, and this film is a unique, unapologetic, full-on Western home run.
