Hestra Fall Line Gloves & Mittens: From $150
For long days on the mountain, Hestra’s leather gloves and mittens are made for long days on the mountain. The cowhide is reinforced in key grip areas and protection from branches on the outside.
Finger seams run along the fingers to stay out of the way of your grip. Inside, there’s foam insulation for warmth, and a soft lining inside offers a touch of comfort against the skin.
The North Face 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket — Men’s: $280
Inspired by its own 1996 Nuptse Jacket, The North Face fills this version with 700-fill goose down to provide warmth on the coldest days. The modern design lets it pack down into its own hand pocket.
The ripstop shell fabric has a DWR treatment, and there’s a stowaway hood to deploy when it starts dumping. A two-way zipper lets you vent up top or down below, and there are hand pockets as well as an internal pocket.
