Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro
Newly announced today from Springfield armory is the Hellcat Pro, a slightly larger, higher capacity Hellcat with enhanced features such as a longer accessory rail, taller grip, 15 rounds of capacity, and a longer barrel/sight radius. Like The Hellcat RDP, the Hellcat Pro has the provision to mount an optic without losing your rear iron sights.
Per Springfield Armory:
Combining the performance of a larger handgun with class-leading concealability and capacity, the new Hellcat® Pro is a compact pistol chambered in 9mm that offers 15+1 capacity in a smaller footprint than any other gun in its class. Optics ready and equipped with a versatile accessory rail and hammer forged barrel, this exceptional everyday carry pistol delivers the perfect balance.
Designed to offer the best of both worlds, the Hellcat Pro delivers full-size performance in a concealable, EDC-ready package. The slim-line grip feels superb in hand, increasing contact and control, while the additional mass in the slide and barrel translates into reduced muzzle flip and faster follow-up shots.
Designed with the use of red dot optics in mind, the Hellcat® Pro features an OSP™ (Optical Sight Pistol) configuration. The slide is milled with the Springfield Micro™ footprint, designed to accept the smallest, most popular micro red dots on the market.
The Hellcat Pro looks like a good option for those ham-handed, sausage fingered individuals like myself that find the smallest of micro compacts just a bit too small, while still remaining very thin and concealable. Not everyone lives where a 10mm needs to be carried, and this could be just as good of a defensive tool in the woods as well as in town for portions of the population.
The dimensions of the Hellcat Pro are a height of 4.8″ and a slide length of 6.6″, versus the Hellcat’s respective 4″ and 6″. The Hellcat Pro’s barrel is 3.7″, versus the Hellcat’s 3″ barrel and the Hellcat RDP’s 3.8″ threaded barrel. The weight of the Hellcat Pro is 21oz, and MSRP is $634.
