1. Etekcity LED Camping Lantern
I love Etekcity, I’ve been a big fan of theirs for a long time. I have these lanterns and absolutely love them. They’re durable, super bright and the battery life lasts a long time. It can provide up to 30 ours of light.
These can collapse and in general, they’re very lightweight. Great for the RV, emergency preparedness or for car camping.
There’s even a little extra storage compartment for maybe additional batteries, some change or anything else small like that.
Pros/Long lasting light, collapsible, very bright
Cons/
Bottom Line/Must have lanterns!
2. ThorFire LED Camping Lantern
This is a collapsible lantern that seems to do it all! It’s rechargeable via USB and also has a hand crank option. In can also charge other devices like your smartphone. It also has a failsafe which prevents from overcharging, that’s a HUGE plus. Don’t worry about leaving it on the charger long after it’s been charged, go on about your life and get it later.
It’s collapsible but it also has a flashlight on top which can be used while open or closed. So when it’s open, it can be more of a lantern and when closed, it can be a flashlight.
It weighs just 5.9oz and very compact when collapsed down. It has high and low brightness settings.
I love collapsible lanterns like this and I have several!
Pros/Great price, collapsible, rechargeable
Cons/Might be on the small side of lanterns
Bottom Line/Great emergency or camping light!
3. Coleman LED Lantern
This is a classic lantern by Coleman. It’s insanely bright but can also be turned down to a low setting. It can run for 85 hours on high and 299 hours on low.
It’s powdered by eight D batteries so be sure to have extra of those batteries on hand, especially if you’re looking to this for emergency purposes.
It’s even water resistant rain and splashing water. Coleman also offers a 5 year warranty! Pretty nice extra there.
It’s not rechargeable and has no other fancy features, it’s just a dang good, solid, reliable lantern that everyone should have in their gear.
Pros/Solid and reliable, super bright, long lasting
Cons/Might be too big to be suitable for all types of adventures
Bottom Line/Great lantern to add to your collection
4. LuminAID Solar Inflatable Lanterns
If you’re looking for a super lightweight lantern that’s ideal for just about any conditions, even ultralight backpacking, this inflatable lantern is the one you’re looking for.
Not only is it inflatable and can pack down super thin, but it also recharges with solar.
It has several light settings ranging from turbo which will last about 3-5 hours, high which will last 6-8 hours, medium which will last 12-14 hours and low which could last 18-24 hours. It also has a flashing option which can last 36-48 hours.
Though it can be charged by the sun, you can also charge it with a USB (like from a power bank, vehicle, or external solar panel or even at home).
The USB will take 1-2 hours to fully charge it and solar can vary, but it’ll take 10-12 hours. So keep it in direct sunlight all day long, then use at night. Easy peasy.
It can also be submerged in water! Great for emergency preparedness, camping and otherwise.
Pros/Collapsible, charges with the sun, long lasting light
Cons/Slow solar charge, but to be expected
Bottom Line/

Enjoy choosing your next lantern!
