Grind Your Own Flour in Minutes with the Wondermill Electric Grain Mill

Fine Grinds

I’ve had a manual grain grinder for years and it’s worked fine, I’ve had no issues.

But who wouldn’t want an electric grain mill? It’s faster, more powerful and…it’s faster!

Years of dreaming finally became reality after weeks of research, I finally made the plunge and purchased the Wondermill Electric Grain Mill.

I store soft white wheat berries and hard red wheat berries. Both types of wheat berries can produce different types of bread.

1 cup of wheat berries produces 2 cups of flour. Freshly ground flour is not the same as store-bought flour. Store-bought flour has a lot of additives and preservatives in it to keep it from going bad.

Fresh ground flour will go rancid in just a day or so, so you need to use it as soon as it’s ground.

Specs, Per Wondermill:

  • Stainless steel milling heads
  • BPA Free
  • 1250watt motor by LG Electronics
  • 1000lb, 10hr nonstop milling toture-tested
  • UL, CSA, and CE certified
  • MSRP: $399.99

Grinding wheat berries with the Wondermill couldn’t be easier.

Step 1: Plug in Wondermill

Step 2: Connect the canister to the grinder

Step 3: Open the top of the grinder

Step 4: Turn on the Wondermill

Step 5: Begin pouring in the wheat berries, be sure not to put in more wheat berries than the canister will hold. Remember that you’ll get twice the ground flour as wheat berries. So 1 cup of wheat berries will turn into 2 cups of ground flour. Takes just 1 minute to grind a couple cups of flour.

Step 6: Once you’ve poured in all the wheat berries you need, let it keep going for 5 or so more seconds to make sure all of the flour has been pushed out of the grinder and into the canister.

Step 7: Enjoy your fresh ground flour

The Wondermill has three different settings:

  1. Pastry flour which is a super fine flour, more on par with the store-bought flours
  2. The bread setting is recommended for wheat berries for bread making
  3. The course setting is best used for harder things like corn and beans

You can grind wheat berries, corn, oats, beans, rice, and more. It says it does not recommend doing coffee beans, but I don’t think I’d want to do that just because once you grind the coffee, it will make everything thereafter smell and taste like coffee.

This is a beast of a machine. It claims you can run it for 1 hour straight grinding up to 100lbs of flour without overloading it.

As a prepper, I needed to see if I could run this on any of my solar generators. I’m pleased to announce, it worked flawlessly. It has a high power draw, you’ll need a generator that can handle at least 1000 watts as the Wondermill peaked around the 900 watt range. But since it only runs for just a few minutes.

When you use it for the first time, you’ll want to grind at least two cups of wheat berries that will become garage flour. I know it seems wasteful, but this just breaks in the grinder and makes sure it’s

It’s unbelievable how powerful and quick this grinder is.

I will say, though, it’s not quiet. It’s not deafening loud, either, but it’s definitely not quiet. I don’t mind the noise at all since it’s on for just 1 minute at a time.

I can use this every day, as well as in the apocalypse. I’m thrilled to have the Wondermill Electric Grain Mill for all of my grinding needs!

For around $350, if you want to bake with the freshest flour possible; get it. It’s worth every penny.
